About Ainsley Parker
Artist Statement
I paint to discover and express my spirituality. Paint becomes a mechanism to release intense emotions and explore new sides of myself. One thing I love about painting is its ambiguous nature. It can mean different things to different people and viewers have their own experiences and perspectives that they bring to their understanding of works of art. That is the beauty of art to me; it lives, it changes, and it evolves. It evokes conversation. Most of my inspiration comes from my daily life: therapy appointments, my interactions with nature, conversations with peers, and how I process these experiences. I like to find beauty in all types of circumstances. I believe my more successful work is automatic and intuitive, allowing ample room for experimentation. This enables my brain to problem-solve and get more immersed in the world I am creating. My goal as a successful professional artist is to create artwork that appeals and can be enjoyed by all sorts of people all over the world. I especially hope to show young girls how to discover, express, and be themselves through art as I was able to discover for myself.
